My concentration in video the past few years has centered around news packages and commercials, with some other stuff thrown in for good measure.

News Packages
Part of what I do for my full time job at Myvesta is to create and distribute Video News Releases, or VNRs.
Video News Releases consist of a finished news package, just like you'd see on your local news, extra footage of the experts that were interviewed, (usually Steve Rhode or Mike Kidwell) b-roll footage of the Myvesta Web site or any other relevant video. They also contain nuts and bolts stuff like contact information for our organization and the names of the people in the news package.
These VNRs are sent out via satellite to every tv station in the country. Some stations use them as is, airing the finished news package exactly how it was fed to them. Other stations use bits and pieces of the news package, b-roll, and interview footage to create their own news story with their own reporters.
Either way, our story gets told and our message gets out. . . mission accomplished!
I write, produce, direct, edit, shoot the video and do the reporting for all of our VNRs.
Currently I am using a Canon XL-1, mini-DV camcorder which produces footage that
rivals Betacams costing thousands of dollars more, and Adobe Premiere to edit the video
and put it all together.
